Mary Kini, a leading human rights activist, shares her story as a young girl experiencing the impacts of tribal flight and sorcery accusations in her community in the Simbu Province. After her father is killed in the tribal fight, her mother is accused of causing his death. Mary’s story shows the impact and the trauma that experiences such as hers can have on children. While this was not without impact on her adult life, her experiences have forged a passion to advocate for human rights in PNG and to work hard that children and women do not have to experience sorcery accusations and violence. |
