| Gilbert Helima is a village court magistrate. In his story he remembers his father and the stories around sorcery surrounding his death. Without his father Gilbert found life challenging as a young man. When the opportunity came in his community to become a ward recorder he felt that for the first time that he could contribute something to his community. Gilbert today is confident and plays a key role in his community in facilitating mediations with regards to sorcery and witchcraft, applying both the customary and government laws, to maintain peace in the community. |
