In her personal story Angela Apa describes the pain and humiliation of being attacked by people she knew. Angela was a victim of sorcery related accusations but describes this act of violence as motivated by jealously. She was able to be protected from further violence because of the strong social and kinship systems she has in place. She also found strength from sharing her experiences with other women survivors. Together they formed the organisation Kup Women for Peace and began a movement to stop tribal fighting in the Kup valley.
