Ambros Mark joined the Bougainville Revolutionary Army as a young man. He was in the BRA when the command was given that all those thought to be sorcerers should be killed. His father was an elder in the community and during that time was killed by the BRA. His mother died only shortly after. Losing his parents had a profound impact on Ambros and his siblings. After the crisis, Ambros started a new life, he become active with church activities and assisting the police, and supporting the young people in the community. As sorcery accusations still take place in Bougainville today, Ambros asks for the BRA command given during the Bougainville civil war to be publicly condemned by the current government. |
